While everything works out in the fiction sense, I feel like I just need to say that most guys who are trouble at the start, are not instantly going to change for a partner.Ok, I have said my thing. He's a good guy which makes the red flags all that more concerning. And the attitude stops fairly early on.However, just given my field, it kept throwing up red flags and was distracting. It's not as bad as Twilight, say, or Beauty and The Beast. No, there are some life threatening reasons for Katy's out of this world beaux being over protective and moody. The world and concept is complex and my sci-fi heart loves all of that.I have a few relationship and human dynamics quibbles, though. This is not unique to Armentrout not to this series. But I really don't love the whole "He hates me and loves me at the same time and I just don't know what to do!" issue. There is a lot of passion and even more adventure. Armentrout’s Lux series.I mostly love this book and the continuing story. Teenage romance is hard. You know what makes it so much harder? When your sort of, kind of, maybe boyfriend is an alien. That's Katy (book blogger turned action hero) is grappling with in the second volume of Jennifer L.
